Community Volunteer (Community Volunteer)
TWFRS want our volunteers to represent our communities, this is why our volunteers bring with them a wide range of skills and experience.
We currently have a large variety of events our volunteers get involved with. The events we attend are with TWFRS staff including operations teams and Prevention and Education teams. We will attend community events such as school fairs, MELA, Pride and Chinese New Year. During these events we will be gathering information from those attending to ascertain if they require a Safe and Well check. We will also be delivering hoe fire safety advice.
We are regularly involved with leafletting areas with current literature, be that for Princes Trust course, FireStopper leaflets or any current initiatives TWFRS need to cascade.
This role is varied as we have lots of different events happening at all times in the Tyne and Wear area.
As a Community Volunteer you will also be able to request to join our other volunteer teams, Events Volunteer, Volunteer Cadet Instructor, Post Incident Support and Language Support Volunteer.
